Books For All: Sponsoring Gateshead ‘Hooked on Books’ Scavenger Hunt
Half term is fast approaching, and for Usborne Books Organiser Beci Leighton that means it’s almost time for the ‘Hooked On Books’ Gateshead scavenger hunt that she has organised! This month, Angel Blinds & Shutters are absolutely delighted to announce that we are acting as sponsors for this excellent event.
As Angel Blinds Owner John Prudhoe said;
“Books should not be a privilege, and ought to be enjoyed by all children, no matter their circumstances! We couldn’t be happier to pledge our support to this fantastic cause. Community-led events such as Beci’s scavenger hunt are what make me proud to be a Gateshead-based business owner”.
Here at Angel Blinds & Shutters, we’re real believers in the power of books in shaping the children of today into the empathetic, thoughtful adults of tomorrow. Unfortunately, not every family is able to supply their child or children with well-stocked libraries at home, so it really is a pleasure to be supporting this excellent cause and making books more accessible to our little ones. When Beci got in touch, we just had to say yes and pledge our support to this brilliant event.
The fun scavenger hunt will be taking place from Monday 21st – Thursday 24th February, starting in everyone’s favourite green space, Saltwell Park.
Beci will be placing books in hidden spots all over Saltwell Park and the surrounding local area of Gateshead. As Beci hides the books, clues will be left on the events Facebook page. It’s an excellent opportunity to get out and about with your little ones, solving clues and exploring the local area on foot. Come on down with your little people and see what you can find!
