Earlier on this year, Angel Blinds and Shutters were approached by none other than the Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club! Not for our expertise in rugby however, but for our outstanding reputation in manufacturing and installing excellent quality blinds throughout the North East region of the UK.
For those of you who aren’t avid rugby fans, the Newcastle Falcons are a prestigious rugby union club, currently playing in the Aviva Rugby Premiership. Their state-of-the-art stand at Kingston Park has been their home since 1990, and consists of various different areas, including the East Stand, John Smith Stand, West Stand and North Stand.
The Blinds
The West Stand of the Falcon’s stadium hosts the club’s corporate clients and is made up of three levels of bars and function rooms. It was here where the Falcons were looking to have their new blinds installed, and we had exactly what they were looking for!
Wanting to keep in line with their black/grey brand colours, they already had a clear idea of what colour they wanted, and ended up selecting a stone grey, blackout fabric. Next to choose was the style, in which they went for high-spec, solar control vertical blinds. This specialist fabric is reflective on one side, in order to reduce the amount of heat and glare that enters the room. So even in the height of summer when it is scorching hot outside, the rooms will remain comfortable and cool for those inside.
We installed 30 sets of these vertical blinds, which took us a total of 5 hours to complete. These were installed in July 2014, so that everything could be ready in good time, looking excellent for the start of a brand new season!
As the Falcons were so happy with our work, we now have our very own advertising board, pride of place at the stadium ground, and are very happy to say the club now has a little bit of Angel Blinds’ heart!
